(Chapter 8: Catching the ex)

Word Count: 1289

The chase was unsuccessful for Jacob and the two police officers. Mark got away once again but all Jacob could think about was Isabella. He had to get back home and protect her, just in case Mark tricked him and went back to the house. Nonetheless, Isabella was alone and he needed to be with her.

The three men ran as fast as they could, back to Jacob's cabin, to be with Hudson and Bella. Thankfully, John and Joseph Seed were already at Jacob's place, protecting the two girls. Jacob took in a deep breath or relief and rushed back to the house.

"John? Joseph?" Jacob said walking in and seeing his brothers with her girlfriend.

"Jacob" John said, standing up and approaching his big brother. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine but we couldn't catch the fucker. He got away" Jacob said, informing everyone in the house.

"Oh god no. He is going to come back" Bella started panicking.

"No he won't" Jacob said, comforting his scared girlfriend. "And even if he does, it'll give me another opportunity to catch him".

"Come on Bella. Let's get you cleaned up" Hudson said, getting a signal from her husband to do so. She helped Isabella up and the both of them disappeared into the bedroom.

"Jacob, I have a suggestion" John said, sitting down next to Joseph. "Why doesn't Bella come and stay with us for a while?".

"I don't want to leave her alone John. She needs me right now"

"I understand that but maybe a change of region would help her calm down a bit. Plus we can transport her to Holland Valley, so that her ex doesn't see her. That way he'll keep thinking she's here and you can spring into action, without having to worry about Bella getting hurt" John added.

Jacob pondered for a minute. He had to give it to his little brother, it was a brilliant idea but getting Bella to leave his side was going to be a little tough.

"John's right. I'll suspended all work at the Hope County jail until this matter is sorted out. We will inform Eli, Nick and everyone else about what's going on. We can have some stay security in Holland Valley and the rest, here in Whitetail Mountains" the Sheriff said. "We will get Isabella to Holland Valley without him seeing her. That way he will think that she's still here and you can make it look like, you are leaving her alone. He'll attack and we can finally capture him".

"They are all brilliant ideas and I want exactly that" Jacob said, sitting down on the couch.

"There's a but, isn't there?" Joseph asked.

Jacob nodded and looked at each of men. "It's not going to be easy to get Isabella to go. She's very clingy at the moment".

"You leave that to my wife and me" John smiled.

"Question. How are we going to exactly get Isabella out off here without her ex seeing?" Pratt asked, joining into the conversation.

"We trick him" Jacob answered with a smirk on his face.

Jacob walked into the bedroom, thanking Hudson as she left the two of them alone. He sat down on the edge of the bed and held her hands tightly. "Bella. I need you to do something for me" Jacob said.

"Ok".

"I need you to go with my brothers and Hudson for a while"

"No. No way. I'm going to stay here with you".

"I'm not asking Isabella. You're going and that's final"

"But Jacob, you don't understand. He'll find me wherever I go"

"Not if we trick him".

"Seems like you've already planned everything to get rid of me" Isabella said, looking down at her hands sadly.

"I'm trying to get rid of your ex-fiancé Isabella. Not you. For Christ sake!" Jacob said, standing up with so much frustration. It was even radiating off him and Bella could feel it but was stubborn. "Bella, I'm trying to save your damn life here".

"Don't get angry at me. I'm just scared" Bella said and started bursting out in tears.

Jacob sat back down on the bed and hugged her tightly against his body. "How do you think I feel? I'm scared too. I'm scared of losing you. I want a future with you Bella and I can't have your past, destroy that for us. That's why I need to do this".

"Are you going to kill him?" Bella asked.

"I'll kill him if you want me too. Till then, all I want to do is beat the living shit out off him, like he did to you" Jacob explained.

"In other words, you are going to be his karma?" Bella asked.

"You betcha I am. See how he likes it, getting beaten up every single day and night"

Bella pulled away from Jacob and smiled, "karmas a bitch".

Jacob, successfully got Isabella out off the house without Mark seeing her, a few days ago. Now him and his mates were ready to put the plan into work. Jacob grabbed his army jacket, put it on and left the house. Before closing the door, Jacob pretended to call out to Isabella, knowing Mark was watching in the distance. Hearing another man say "I love you" to the girl he loves, boiled Mark's blood and he was sure to take his anger out on Isabella.

Mark watched Jacob drive off, until his car disappeared in the distance and then pounced into action. He pick locked the front door and quietly opened it, trying not to scare Isabella. He wanted to get her without her knowing. Once he got her, with the help of her parents, he was going to take her back to Missoula and get back to where they left off, before he ran off from her. But Mark was about to get a little surprise of his own.

The house was dark and didn't seem like anyone was home. He searched around the living room and kitchen, before making his way to the bedroom. Sure enough, when he opened the door, he saw someone lying in bed. Thinking it was Isabella, Mark approached the side of the bed, quietly. He gently grabbed the blanket and with speed, threw the blanket but he didn't expect this. What he was expecting, was Isabella but instead another man was lying down in the bed.

"Surprise mother fucker" Wheaty said and punched Mark in the face, causing him to fall back.

All of a sudden, Nick Rye, Eli Palmer and the Sheriff all jumped out from different places and held their guns directly at Mark.

"What the fuck?" Mark said, examining each of the guys.

Soon after, the bedroom door opened and in walked Jacob Seed. A smirk on his face, knowing that he had finally caught this guy. "What's wrong Mark? Expecting to find Isabella home? Did you really think I'd leave my girl home alone?".

Mark accepted his defeat and looked down at the ground, disappointed with himself for falling for this stupid plan.

"Take him to the Veterans Centre. His cage is waiting for him." The sheriff said and watched as Nick and Eli grabbed Mark and took him away.

Jacob took his phone out and rang his brother, Joseph, to ask for information about Bella's parents. "Joseph. We've got the guy. We are taking him to Centre. Any news on the parents?".

"Don't you worry about them Jacob. We are bringing them to the Veterans Centre now" Joseph informed his brother and hung the phone up.

"Great news Sheriff. We've got the parents too" Jacob said.

“Great job. Let's get to the Veterans Centre and begin" the Sheriff said and followed Jacob.

PLEASE RAMBLE ABOUT DESPERATO I LOVE NICKY SO MUCH

I’ve been answering this over the past couple of days because idk what you wanted me to ramble about?? like come on man, give me the rambling direction. and tbh i didn’t know what i wanted to ramble about when I posted. This is actually gonna be under the cut because I ramble about secondary characters a lot.

Desperato/Blackwell Gals: I don’t think people will expect it to go certain ways in terms of some areas. Like I don’t think it’s what people’ll expect and this inadvertently gives me a number of issues and makes my anxiety a lot worse, because i don’t know if people will like that i just do my own thing sometimes and not have the canon storyline at the forefront of the fic. Nicky’s issues are a major point of the fic. Emmy’s relationship with her mother is another important issue, like Em learning to not care about her and learning to not feel guilty about cutting her out of her life.Also I will fight anyone who says that the relationship between the Blackwell gals isn’t the most important relationship in the whole fic. Like fight me.S2!Nicky is a fun character to play around with because it’s more true to who she actually is, like S1!Nic is sort of an act? like the person she wants to be. In relation to Jacob, I don’t think that Nicky has actually grieved him. Like she lives in the same house, her cabin was his, her car was his, her old motorcycle was his. Like there’s just a constant Jacob presences in her life so has she actually grieved him? and Emmy is so angry that she never got to have a relationship with him but has a relationship with a small select of videos that Nicky took of him. Emmy doesn’t know the real Jacob but a false one because of a small selection of moments that Nicky captured. Jacob wasn’t a good man but he tried his best for Nic and he loved her so much.  There’s a running joke that Jacob haunts the Blackwell home and the cabin.Nicky’s friends are my life line tbh. I love them all so much and they’re just a good group of people. - Nate Jenkins, Holly Mitchell, Quinn Lewis, Dean Murphy - They’re just so good!!!!! And Emmy’s other friends - Scott Bishop and Amber Mitchell - are just the best and this little trio are going to be the best and I’m just so excited to bring in my Amber. Who knows what the ships will be at the end of the three seasons? I sure as fuck don’t, well I have a vague idea but that’s a later problem for a depressed post 3am breakdown Jess to figure out. Nicky’s birthday party/event is probably one of the only times she’ll be truly happy throughout the entire fic tbhSecondary Characters:  if you want to see FC’s check this link and go to Desp on the right (x)▫️ Nate Jenkins - Nicky’s childhood best friend (they were next door neighbours) business partner and the other mechanic. Married to Joseph and are in the final stages of adopting a baby, they’re literally just waiting for it to be born and have all the paperwork finalised. The mom friend, and has been making dad jokes since he was a child. He’s a serpent but on the edge of the gang since he got married because they knew adoption was the only why they’d be able to have children so they have to look like #decent members of society and not knee deep in crime. Just loves pulling cars apart. ▫️ Holly Mitchell - Bartender in the Wrym. Was almost an accountant because why not. But left because of a ~scandal~. Engaged to Quinn Lewis and older sister to Amber Mitchell.  Makes a lot of “i’m engayed” style of jokes . A fun loving gal who takes nothing seriously. Also a serpent. Lost both her parents within the period of a year. Often sarcastic and acts as a therapist for the serpents because that’s sort of part of the job description for bartenders. Loves puns but not Amber’s puns. What is organisation? how was she almost an accountant with all this chaos.▫️ Quinn Lewis - She’s just the best, a nurse who works at the hospital and does nights at a no questions asked walk in clinic in the southside. Getting married so planning that takes up almost any of her free time. Has made Nicky maid of honor but has not told her that, just assumes that Nicky knows. Often very tired, always disgruntled. Patches Nicky up after fights far too often despite knowing she could and probably should lose her job because of it. A good person who loves her friends too much. Probably the most serious of the group and the most adult one. Also pool game is next level with this gal. Serpent as well. Very organised and has a good eye for detail. ▫️ Dean Murphy - A soft serpent  who is one of Nic’s childhood best friends. They shit a lot of illegal stuff together, stole cars and all that jazz. Cleaned himself up, worked a number of odd jobs until he started working in the sheriff’s department. Still a serpent despite this. A sarcastic rugged man who is often done with serpent shit and just wants to sit down and not help cover up a crime. Nic and Dean have a complicated relationship, like are they only friends because Nicky (lovingly and jokingly) threatens to blackmail him? Nah they be actual friends.  ▫️ Amber Mitchell -  My angry and depressed gal who i love and cannot wait to bring her in, see this  ask if you want to know more about her. She’s happy being a wallflower, probably will fight Betty Cooper at some-stage but also fight Jughead as well. ▫️ Scott Bishop - baby boy who i love with my whole cold dead heart, see this ask to see more from him. Sees the best in everyone bar Betty. Despite being a “loner” not friends with Jughead, can’t deal with his over dramatic ass.▫️ Amanda Harrison - Nicky’s mother. left baby Nic on Jacob’s doorstep. She’s an interesting character who I think you’ll hate to begin with but you’ll understand why she did what she did. I don’t think you’ll hate her when she leaves the fic. ▫️ Lucy Fletcher - Emmy’s mother and a complete bitch. A drug addict and she often successfully manipulates Emmy into doing stuff for her. Not a good person to be around, didn’t even tell Jacob that she was pregnant with his child▫️ Jacob Blackwell - lowkey often regret killing him but it had to be done. Nicky and Emmy’s father, didn’t know that Emmy was his child. A good father to Nicky and she was his only weakness. Was the leader of the serpents until his death. Was very violent and if anyone went against his wishes or challenged, fight would always occur, and he would always win. Was meant to be a pro bare knuckle boxer but did too much bad shit outside the ring to be one. ▫️ Tristian Owens - evil tbh.  He’s a drug dealer and a ghoulie who is currently in prison for tracking drugs across state lines. He’s a good five years older than Nicky, so she would have been 14 when they met and him 19. Became her “boyfriend” at age 15, he was 20, so not a boyfriend, there’s clearly a power imbalance from the offset. He introduced nicky to the harder drugs. Nicky never really got justice for what he did to her, he’ll be before the parole board soon.   ▫️ Jordan Naylor - Sweetie and music teacher. How he meets Nicky is cute ish. Comes back to Riverdale because his mother isn’t well.▫️ Simon -  Nicky’s sponsor at her AA meetings, he just wants the best for her. The only one who understands Nicky’s addiction since he was one as well. Like nothing is really known about him, since the sponsor isn’t meant to get personal with the sponsee. ▫️ Joseph Aquinas -  A southsider who isn’t a serpent. He’s a lawyer who works in civil law. Nate’s husband. Often gives Nicky legal advice, and he’s a good name who deserves the world. Cannot wait to start a family. Doesn’t mind that Nate will be dragged into dangerous stuff, but doesn’t like it, he’d rather that Nate didn’t get involved. But he knows that Nate would follow Nicky to hell and back. Joseph can deal with a  husband who comes home late but not a dead husband.

While she might not have the noblest of day jobs, Megara makes her living being a grifter of the rich and famous of the mundane world. Cynical of most of the world, she can't shake the person she became in the final months of her world. Connected to the underground fable community, Megara tends to give the Sheriff a heads up, for the right price, on things he might not otherwise be attuned to. Though she longs to be reunited with her wonderboy, she's quite the rogue woman now and isn't quite sure how well Herc would like the new her.

— HISTORY  —  Growing up in ancient Greece was not a picnic for any woman. But being the oldest of Creon, King of Thebes,  daughters Megara was better off then must. As a child, she was stubborn and outspoken about her views which shocked many of the patrons in her court. Devoted to her role as princess, Megara didn't believe in the fates design for her instead decided that her life was better left in her own hands. And then she fell in love. It came swift and hard and poor Megara didn't quite know what to do with herself. But the fates are tricky mistresses and Megara had already proven she wasn't a devout believer. Striking down the man she loved in his prime, Megara began to see the world for what it was. Cruel and unforgiving. And then Hades came knocking on her door. After days of praying to the god, Megara was finally given her answer to her problems. Selling her souls so that her love could live. And live he did. Without so much as a grateful word between them, the man she thought was the one moved own with a chambermaid. Heartbroken, Megara realized that the only person she could count in her life was herself.  But her deal wasn't without its consequences.  Having sold her soul to Hades, Megara was forced to do his bidding. Charming the locals, the priest, and even the monsters, she became a pawn in Hades's game. And then Hercules strolled into town to complete his twelve labors. During a rather unfortunate encounter with the River Guardian, Megara found herself in a bit of a sticky situation. She was a damsel. She was in distress. She could handle. Wonderboy, Hercules could just go on and have a nice day. But he couldn't quite take that for an answer. It was a bit unorthodox for a hero, Megara found the man to be charming if not a bit naive. Clearly, Wonderboy didn't live in the real world.  What she thought was a fleeting encounter, turned out to be the first of many. From his labor of defeating Mianyans to being awarded as a prize, Megara had yet to see the last of the famous demigod Hercules. While the two enjoyed each others company, Megara had been tasked by Hades to discover his weakness. Guilt racked her as she began to fall in love with the man she realized that perhaps he was just as wonderful as he seemed. 

But not even the fates could predict the coming of the Oppunger. No match for his hoards of armies, with Hades and Hera at his side their world fell into darkness. But people do crazy things when the fall in love. bargaining with Hades, Hercules struck a deal with the God of the Underworld to surrender the fight and his godhood if Megara befell no harm. But ever the Hero, Megara watched from the sideline as Hercules battled the armies. In a stroke of lovesickness and madness, Megara pushed him from harm. The battle for Thebes and the world was lost, her life fleeting by the moments. Not even the demigod could save her now. Without a choice, Megara was swept up into the hoards of people taken by the conqueror of the land. Separated, Megara was taken to the Oppunger and put to work for the Snow Queen. Once again, Megara realized that happiness was a pipe dream for someone like her.  She had been so close to happiness. When the Snow Queen fled, Megara followed. Not to serve her, but to find Hercules and anyone else. As a resistance leader, Megara had rallied the prisoners into revolting and forged on into the mundane world. With such rogues like Flynn Rider and Dorothy by her side, they found their way to the Fable community. But her time in the care of the Oppunger had only solidified the bitter cold of her heart. being the smart woman she was, Megara found herself swindling the feeble humans out of their money and possessions, tricks she hadn't used in years since her enslavement to Hades. Oddly enough, snarky and not above using her body, Megara has become one of the Sheriff's trusted spies into the black market of the Fable community.
